Diets tend to focus on healthier eating and controlling portions/calories. That is certainly true of the SlimXpress range of diets. But while there’s no getting around reducing your caloric intake in order to burn fat, there are things you can do to make that easier, and some of them might surprise you. Rebecca Wilson, who practices cognitive & mindfulness-based therapies and researches health psychology and behavior change, wrote about three important habits to break if you want to lose weight, and one of those is not getting enough sleep.

Sleep is a crucial foundation for dealing effectively with life. We average 6 hours a night, when most adults need 8-9 hours. Lack of sleep can contribute to stress, increased appetite, cognitive impairment, and lack of energy.

She also gives practical tips for setting up a sleep plan that will assure that you get plenty of rest such as planning to be in bed 8.5 hours before you go need to wake up and establishing a pre-bedtime routine to get your brain into gear for going to sleep.
